TICK TOK!

In my hunt for a new timepiece I have found some gorgeous watches (and at many price points)! Here are some of the chic standouts.

But first, get a load of some "Then & Now" print advertisements for watches... my how times (pun intended) have changed!

Then: Teach him the value of time, states this 1900s ad from Dueber-Hampden Watches.

Now: Want to be Brad Pitt? Where this Tag watch!

Then: Domestic animals sell Benrus watches, in an ad circa 1960.

Now: Wild animals help sell Cartier watches.

Then: Prim and proper is the pitch for Harvel Watch Company's ad from the 1940s.

Now: Sharon Stone in a Dior ad for Christal Watches. She knows sex sells!

Now some chic watches... Enjoy!

AN OSCAR FASHION SNEAK PEEK?

New York Fashion Week is underway for Fall 2010 and one catwalk (so far) is screaming "Oscar!"

Project Runway fame designer Christian Siriano, who showed his Fall collection on Friday, February 12 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, unveiled several looks worthy of a golden statue. Siriano's "fierce" fashion translates effortlessly into red carpet style with its luxe fabrics and feminine silhouettes (ruffles anyone?).

Most recently Mad Men star Christina Hendricks walked the Golden Globes red carpet in a peach Siriano number, a style similar to his gowns seen in Friday's show. (See Hendricks in her Siriano dress in the Tres Chic blog entry Tres Chic In The Rain).

Like a lookbook for Academy Awards style, Fall 2010 Fashion Week will surely give celebs and their stylists plenty of options. Tres Chic can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!
